We are proud to announce the opening of the third Centre for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Grenada.
Our new centre represents a new concept in CBT
counselling treatments. Our centre combines a luxury
holiday with an intensive CBT treatment plan, in
a relaxed Caribbean style.
This centre is the first of its kind in the world.
This luxury therapeutic centre specialises in the treatment of: -
- Stress management
- Anxiety and depression
- Anger management
- Career Transition
- Social anxiety
- Weight reduction
- Couples counselling
- Christian CBT counselling
The motivation for opening a CBT Centre which combines the latest state-of-the-art relaxation techniques with intensive CBT in an idyllic Caribbean setting, came out of almost 15 years working as a therapist/ lecturer.
We realised that the average recovery time with CBT is 12-20 counselling sessions and that despite our 70-80% success rate this process could be
greatly reduced in time if the physical components of treatment i.e. sleep, rest, massage, art, and a slow pace were included to facilitate the most optimum conditions for healing to occur.
Recent CBT statistics show that, consistent with Eastern forms of therapy, 70% of the cause of emotional / stress related problems are physical. After treating thousands of clients in my own counselling
career I can corroborate this academic finding.
The key to the ethos of an in-house intensive CBT treatment across a broad range of problems is that there is a great need for a place where this kind of holistic healing of mind, body and spirit can occur. CBT is an umbrella term
for over 20 different behavioural therapies. Our
CBT programmes will combine standard CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness based CBT, Schema-focused therapy, and the third wave therapies of Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Our staff include trained CBT therapists, Masseuse, and other holistic health practitioners. A spiritual counsellor will also be present for breathing meditation, visualisation, and progressive muscle relation techniques.
The main advantages of intensive CBT retreats are that they are short term, one or two weeks and make changes to the way clients see themselves, others and their world,
which are life changing. When CBT is practiced without the need to return to the original situations and environments which triggered these problems,
clients can both make these changes and maintain
them when they return from the programme.
